Hi guys, here is a little digital painting i did today. Still getting used to using Photoshop instead of the usual pencils and markers. Might be colouring a couple old sketches first and then move on onto new stuff. This sketch i did a couple of months ago :) Not really relevant for summer, but hey, its not warm everywhere :D

Your work is absolutely fabulous. Every one of your characters is bursting with personality it is bloody brilliant ;v; Your style is so free and fearless, anything you draw is so delightfully fun. I dream of drawing with your capabilities and working with illustration professionally like you do. I hope you don't mind me asking what tips you might have for an aspiring artist?

Thank you very much <3 this so kind of you.
There is of course no one way, but for me it was a lot of drawing, especially gesture drawing. I tried to draw every day, in the places that force you to be quick and capture the position of people and environment in just a couple of minutes. I sketched on the tube, in coffee shops and at uni. Gesture drawing is incredibly useful to anyone who wants to get into character design, as you learn a lot about structure and shape on different bodies, without having to memorise the anatomy ( anatomy is really useful to know, but as a creative, it might be hard to sit down and just learn it by heart) I have about 5-6 sketchbooks that are filled with gesture drawings, and thats all just done in the last 2 years.
There are also  a few books and resources out there that are quite helpful:

Force: Dynamic Life Drawing for Animators, Mike Mattesi

Force: Character Design from Life Drawing, Mike Mattesi

Anything by Vilppu (Lecture Series etc, check library or look online)

This website is like online life drawing, if you dont have classes around, (set the times really low 5 min max): http://artists.pixelovely.com/practice-tools/

When i started gesture drawing, I hated it, everything i drew just looked like blobs, and i hated my sketchbook. It was especially hard, cause i did know how to draw cartoons, and i could do them in still positions rendered very nicely. But i forced myself to finish it and mid way things started to get better and easier to capture. Use a pen to draw so u cant erase it :) It helped me mentally move onto the next drawing cause i couldn’t “fix” the previous one. Most of all have fun :) And its a really difficult part when you are starting something off, cause its easy to loose patience.

Hope you find this helpful :) xx

You faved a piece of mine so I wanted to check you out. You're great! I especially love your background art. A lot of people do complicated digital art now, but you really rock pencil, pens and colored pencils. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you <3 Hhehehe, well the reason i work mostly traditional is  because of the texture and there sth about it that cannot be replicated in digital. But i am giving digital a try too :) will post more stuff soon.

So I decided to finally post one of the reasons that i havent been on here. This is one of my smaller final projects. Its about an abandoned building called aquadrome in Moscow. I was inspired by its unusual structure and people who visit it to make series of monoprints. Monoprinting is a bitch.. its really hard to get into as its so unpredictable… but the result comes out loose and very interesting. It was fun and i learned a ton.. :P
